LT 25 May- LT showed whloe class the school wiki to try and get them enthused and excited to put things on their own page. We took suggestions of pages they wanted. LT took a rotation of kids to show them how to edit page and type and change font, size and colour of text. The class teacher is going to have the wiki running during writing time and some reading activities so it can be updated as aprt of the normal program.
June 11- LT showed 2 reading groups how to put easi speak onto powerpoint so they can record themselves reading fluently. Teacher intends to let this group record some poems or journals then get them to teach others. this needs to be done before the end of term to ensure they dont loose the knowledge of how to doe it. It will imporve ch reading as it wil encourage them to read with fluency and expression. also the children who listen to the powerpoint will have examples of fluent reading as a model.
Children have been writing during writing time on the computer using the power point story book.Two children are able to use this each writing session. This has been exciting the children and has benifited the children who dont always write lots. It is improving the childrens skills of using a computer, keyboard, and has motivated them to write more and high quality work.
Kidsperation has been used during reading time as a follow up or a pre reading activity. The children are confident at using this now. It motivate the children to think deeply about the text that they are working with and making connections with the book.
The children have been using the camera to take photos of their own work around the room and also around the school for our school community. The childern enjoy using the camera and they work together to help each other use it.
Term 3
We have been building on our poem book we have been making on power point and using the easi speak. The children really enjoy this and have been selective about only putting up their best fluent and well read work. Together as a whole class we have been listening to what they have been working on. Next step is to use this as a reading activity. It has motivated other children who have not recorded a poem yet to get one up their - practicing fluent and expressive reading.
Continued to use our power point story book the children are becoming more and more confidnet about using it and their typing skills are improving.
Also still using the power point to do our newsboard in the morning. Children are foucsed and engaged in what we are doing and with the projector everyone can see and read what is up there.
We used the maths week website as a whole class and indepent on the pod. They loved this site and lots went home and played on it at home also.

Sue came in and taught small groups of children to play games using printable key boards. The children enjoy playing these and it is making the children more confident with the keyboard on the computer.

has been really cool and the children are excited about this and it is easy for them to jump on and work on it, also a great way to share their work with the community.
